Job Details

Position Title: Service Technician – Low Voltage Systems

Reports To: Area Operations Manager

Position Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for the physical/operational service and troubleshooting of low voltage systems including, but not limited to, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, nurse call and security. All work must be done while developing and maintaining relationships with a broad base of external customers including commercial facilities, entertainment venues, places of worship, manufacturers, etc. as well as with internal customers (salespersons, technicians, etc.).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Service low voltage systems while maintaining quality standards.
  • Thoroughly and accurately complete associated documentation in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot systems to determine source of problem and recommend solution(s).
  • Ability to coordinate efforts of other technicians assigned to a project.
  • Attend all scheduled in office technician meetings.

Experience Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of industry experience (preferred).
  • Electronics or Electrician Courses (Technical College – preferred).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and parts manuals to diagnose/troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to regularly carry and climb a 6' or taller ladder.
  • Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to use ladders and lifts to include work in unusual and sometimes difficult locations.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements (required).
  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and ability to communicate with customers at all levels.
