Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and oversee all operations at our folding carton manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging, printing, or related manufacturing industries, with expertise in production, quality control, sales, and financial management. This role requires a hands-on leader with the ability to drive operational efficiency, team performance, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Production Management
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, quality output, and cost control.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to optimize workflow.
- Monitor equipment maintenance, raw material procurement, and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
2. Sales & Business Development
- Work closely with the sales team to develop new business opportunities and maintain customer relationships.
- Set and track sales and revenue targets, ensuring profitability.
- Collaborate with customers to understand packaging needs and deliver innovative solutions.
3. Financial Management & Budgeting
- Develop and manage operational budgets, cost controls, and financial performance metrics.
- Analyze profit and loss statements to improve efficiency and maximize profitability.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or customer satisfaction.
4. Team Leadership & Human Resources
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and administrative staff.
- Establish and promote a strong company culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management.
5. Quality Assurance & Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure that all products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Work closely with the quality control team to address and resolve production defects or process inefficiencies.
- Implement customer feedback loops to drive continuous improvement.
6. Strategic Planning & Growth
- Develop and execute long-term strategies for business expansion and market positioning.
- Identify new technologies, materials, and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging packaging innovations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (preferably in folding cartons, packaging, or printing industries).
- Strong understanding of carton converting, die-cutting, gluing, and printing technologies.
- Proven track record of improving production efficiency and financial performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software.
- Knowledge of ISO, GMP, HACCP, and other quality assurance standards in packaging.
