Job Purpose

To manage the development and attainment of operating goals for Plant's within a Region or product line. To ensure compliance with established corporate and regulatory policies and ensure the safe, environmentally sound production of a quality product.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive continuous improvement in operations, safety, environmental and quality
  • Increase efficiency and effectiveness through use of technology
  • Be accountable for achieving forecasted financial performance targets
  • Drive performance improvements in all areas including capital deployment; monitor industry developments
  • Lead regional business team that supports the operations through their various functions
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key strategic external suppliers and customers
  • Develop and implement 3-5 year strategic plan for plants within region
  • Ensure compliance to production and delivery schedules
  • Assist in the development, execution and communication of strategic plans; assists in developing a process to implement plans.
  • Assist in new product development and new capacity options
  • Lead performance management effort that includes the identification & communication of critical successful factors.
  • Accountable for achieving forecasted financial performance targets
  • Successfully hire, supervise, orient and train managers and team members in disciplines that will improve performance; provide employees with information, leadership and development, succession planning, and training opportunities
  • Conduct periodic audits for production facilities and assist in project planning
  • Drive performance improvements in all areas including capital deployment; monitor industry developments and Best Practices.
  • Assemble and lead regional business team that supports the operations through their various functions
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key strategic external customers
  • Establish and monitor site business plans; track key performance metrics
  • Provide leadership in process redesign, productivity, quality and customer service
  • Manage budget and cost reduction initiatives
  • Develop, implement and communicate strategic plans
  • Establish, communicate and monitor environmental and safety achievement and compliance in plants

What do I need to be successful?

  • 10 + years related operations experience
  • 5 – 7+ years management/leadership experience
  • Understanding of and passion for the building industry a plus
  • Knowledge of the leading process technology available and related to the operations
  • Thorough knowledge of current supervisory and management techniques
  • Knowledge of plant operations and LP business operations
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with all functions
  • Strong managerial/leadership skills
  • Strong budgeting and financial analysis skills
  • Customer focused business approach
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Ability to develop and implement 3-5 year strategic plan for plants within region

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
