This is a full time grant funded position. The Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP) Program Assistant II is responsible to the County Extension Director and works under the direction of the lead Family and Consumer Science Agent to implement approved educational programs in group settings to both youth and adult audiences in the area of health and nutrition as part of the Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP). This position will assist with acquiring materials for the program, maintaining program records, budget records, and submit travel expense reports. This position will maintain and grow positive partnerships with local organizations to address the nutrition and physical activity needs of the community and in support of the TNCEP grant goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with community and state-level partners to implement specific program components of the Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP).
  • Assist in the provision of resources, training and technical assistance to ensure the comprehensive health, nutrition, and physical activity programs occurring in community settings.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of an active coalition of County agencies, organizations, industries, businesses, and individuals to address the nutritional and physical activity needs of all county residents.
  • Maintain and grow positive partnerships with local organizations, vendors, agencies, and general public in support of the TNCEP grant goals.
  • Assist with community needs assessments and evaluation requirements as needed.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: Two to three years of related experience desired
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Word Perfect.
    • Teaching skills to adult and youth.
  • Successful applicant must have a valid Tennessee driver's license
  • Clear background check will be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree
  • Experience teaching youth and/or adults
Work Location - Onsite at the UT Extension Anderson County office in Clinton, TN.
