Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer at Aqua-Chem will be responsible for supporting the production process to ensure optimization of cost, quality and on time delivery of products.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN

Pay Range: Dependent on experience

Essential Duties:

  • Update or emplace manufacturing work instructions plant wide.

  • Develop standard labor hours and optimization of those hours.

  • Design to value: improve new and existing manufacturing drawings for ease of manufacturing and reduction in cost without affecting form, fit, and function.

  • Support purchasing: prepare scope of supply, to include instructions and drawings for suppliers.

  • Support manufacturing "red lines" - incorporate minor manufacturing design change request(s) without disrupting manufacturing operations.

  • Support the aftermarket department with tasks such as finding replacements for obsolete parts, etc.

  • Participate in transformation into data-driven organization.

  • Report progress, visibility on loading, and KPI's.

  • Review of new manufacturing drawings for release

  • Support Application in cost estimations.

  • Documents potential risks or shortfalls in future state processes

  • Aids in the creation, review, and approval of engineering packages to be used for welding, machining, or fabrication.

  • Manages work to ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budget.

  • Participates in the definition of action plans, training of relevant maintenance and production teams, and other support activities during the internal/external process and equipment start-up.

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience.

• 3-5 years of experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment.

• Ability to translate design intent into efficient processes and tooling while creating readable, detailed drawing packages and manufacturing instructions.

• The ability to safely use basic hand tools; mill or lathe or welding experience is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Able to work overtime as required.
