Job Description:
We're seeking a highly motivated Pathologist Assistant to join our team in Knoxville, TN for a 3-month contract. This onsite position offers a flexible schedule (preferred: 1 pm - 9:30 pm ET) and the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct gross examinations of surgical pathology specimens under supervision.
Assist the department manager with day-to-day operations and ensure accuracy & efficiency.
Perform gross examination & dissection of complex specimens for histology processing.
Provide training and guidance to staff in techniques, instrumentation, and organization.
May be responsible for onboarding, training, and QC of new staff.
Perform specimen preparation on non-gynecological specimens (including FNA).
Ensure compliance with safety, quality control, and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP).
Troubleshoot issues, exercise independent judgment, and interact with pathologists.
Identify problems, recommend workflow changes, and monitor quality indicators.
Follow lab procedures and maintain licensure requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Pathology or related field preferred).
1 year surgical gross experience with complex specimens.
NAACLS-approved pathologist assistant training program graduate.
ASCP Certified PA.

Competitive salary (flat bill rate includes per diem for housing, meals, travel).
Travel reimbursement based on GSA per diem rates for Knoxville, TN.
