Description:

The Geotechnical Drill Rig Assistant will work daily on a geotechnical civil drill rig, supporting site investigations for new construction projects. This role offers hands-on training and the opportunity to learn how to operate drill rigs. Responsibilities include traveling throughout Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Alabama to drill test holes and collect soil and rock core samples. Safety training is provided, and the assistant will work alongside experienced crew members in the field. Pending experience, we are also looking for drillers to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Geotechnical Civil Drill rig under supervision
  • Travel to various locations for drilling test holes in soil and rock cores
  • Assist in setting up and preparing drilling equipment
  • Learn and follow safety procedures and guidelines
  • Assist experienced crew hands with drilling operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of drilling site
  • Assist in analyzing soil and rock core samples
  • Document drilling operations and results
  • Assist in troubleshooting drilling equipment issues
  • Continuously learn and improve drilling skills
  • Assist with the preparation of construction sites by loading and unloading materials and tools.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Operate small machinery and tools such as drills, saws, and hammers.
  • Remove debris and other materials from the construction site.
  • Assist with the installation of fencing, signposts, and other structures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • No experience
  • Stand long periods
  • Lift 50 lbs
  • Background Check
  • Driver License
  • Minimum Age 18
