Your Potential Role:

We have an opening for a Safety Manager to implement and administer the Denark Construction safety program.

  1. Plan, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including MSDS requirements for both field and office locations.
  2. Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans, including fire prevention, weather preparedness, and project security plans for all projects.
  3. Administer the Workers Compensation plan, including obtaining EMR reports and managing claims.
  4. Administer safety orientations, education, and training for Denark staff and subcontractors. Track and maintain training recency in a matrix and develop a maintenance schedule.
  5. Create and manage an annual training calendar, including mandatory toolbox talks and planning for Construction Safety Week.
  6. Conduct routine safety meetings to address hazards, incidents, and future plans, incorporating corporate challenges and recognition programs to foster a strong safety culture.
  7. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled site safety inspections to identify and mitigate hazards. Document findings, issue hazard notices, and ensure timely corrections.
  8. Monitor project environmental conditions (e.g., air quality, noise, temperature, light) and verify first aid equipment needs.
  9. Perform DCI Safety Audit Walkthroughs weekly and attend subcontractor safety briefings as feasible.
  10. Review and ensure compliance with all Denark Project Safety and Health Program requirements and applicable OSHA/TOSHA regulations.
  11. Coordinate TOSHA consultative agreements and attend walkthroughs with insurance provider consultants.
  12. Prepare and submit required safety reports, including incident reports, monthly near-miss and accident summaries, and compliance-related updates.
  13. Maintain OSHA forms and first aid logs at required locations and monitor signage conformance.
  14. Conduct and document investigations for accidents and near misses. Develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences and schedule post-incident review meetings within five business days.
  15. Regularly evaluate emergency readiness through drills and simulations at various project phases.
  16. Analyze safety data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations to enhance safety practices.
  17. Review and distribute OSHA/TOSHA updates, enforcement memos, and other safety-related information to project leaders.
  18. Review safety-related costs and help develop project-specific safety budgets.
  19. Provide guidance and resources for safety-related issues to all personnel and ensure subcontractors submit Safe Start documentation.
  20. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

Your Credentials & Skill Set:

  • Two-or-four year business degree and/or minimum of four years of construction safety experience, or equivalent combinations of training and experience.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills.
  • Possess or obtain after employment the following certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 500/501
  • Experience with Procore software is a plus.
