Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled 3D Design Engineer with strong Onshape 3D CAD experience to join our team on a 6–12 month contract in Knoxville, TN. This role will play a critical part in leading our transition from SolidWorks to Onshape, ensuring design accuracy and consistency while training and supporting other team members throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transition of 3D drawings and designs from SolidWorks CAD into Onshape 3D.
• Create, update, and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and drawings in Onshape.
• Work across both mechanical and electrical designs within 3D CAD systems.
• Train and support engineers and technicians as they adopt Onshape 3D.
• Provide expertise and best practices for utilizing Onshape effectively in a production environment.
• Ensure all designs and documentation meet company standards and project requirements.

Education & Skills

• Associate's Degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Highly proficient in Onshape 3D CAD modeling (required).
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD (strongly preferred).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to solve design and workflow challenges.

Compensation & Schedule

• Contract duration: 6–12 months
• Schedule: First shift, 40 hours per week
• Pay range: $30 – $35 per hour, based on experience
