AWS/CES is seeking a Engineering Manager for our automotive manufacturing client in Clinton, TN

  • Location: Clinton, TN
  • Schedule: Direct Hire
  • Pay rate:$85k-$120k


Position Summary

The Die Casting Engineering Manager leads engineering initiatives within a die casting manufacturing environment, driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. This role requires expertise in die design, process control, and project management, with a strong background in Japanese automotive manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, capable of managing teams, collaborating globally, and delivering innovative solutions. Occasional international travel (1–2 weeks at a time) is required to support global teams and suppliers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design and development of die casting dies and trim tooling.
  • Create and manage annual and semi-annual action plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead process improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce defects, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Partner with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, and safety standards.
  • Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Train, mentor, and lead engineering staff in die casting best practices.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and present project proposals and secure funding as needed.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage members of the Production Engineering Department.
  • Responsibilities include hiring, training, work assignments, performance management, and conflict resolution.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in die casting or related manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of die design, metallurgy, and process optimization.
  • Leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with IATF and ISO standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical journals, reports, and present to senior leadership.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (1–2 weeks at a time) as business needs require.
