Job Description
The purpose of this job is to supervise the Employee Relations Services (ERS) team in addition to facilitate and advise on employee relations and store wellness.
In this role you will:
Supervise and provide assistance to the employee relations team; select, coach, train, and develop direct reports, to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews
Resolve complex employee relations issues including conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations
Monitor and review background and MVR results and respond to concerns from the background check adjudication process; escalate when necessary
Draft responses for DOL, EEOC investigations and employment litigation threats
Maintain ERS team processes and procedures
Oversee store wellness visits; track and report results
Draft and maintain compliance calendar, team member handbooks and other compliance documents; update corporate policy documents and policy management system
Aid in gathering of documentation as it pertains to annual compliance for federal contractor program
Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, employee relations or related field required
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
Minimum seven (7) years experience in human resources or employee relations preferred
Thorough understanding of all company policies
Thorough understanding of federal and state laws concerning labor relations
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including creation of pivot tables and trend reporting
Ability to lead, motivate, encourage and coach a team
Strong decision making, problem solving, and judgment skills
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with different levels of the organization to negotiate, problem solve, complete projects and influence decision making
Ability to remain objective, calm, tactful and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulation, ordinances and policies
Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior including but not limited to confidentiality
