Quality Assurance Manager
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to implement the Laser Isotope Separation Technologies quality assurance program as we develop production scale enrichment processes based on our patented Laser Isotope Separation Technology process. The process has many advantages, being the only USA-origin and patented laser uranium enrichment company, and several major advantages over traditional methods such as gas diffusion, and centrifuges. The position reports to the President and will be based in our Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. You'll work independently applying your knowledge to projects and processes. Responsibilities
• Quality oversight to ensure work is performed in strict accordance with requirements of the quality assurance program and supporting procedures, work-instructions, and forms.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health program requirements.
• Collaborate with the production team to implement quality improvements and perform causal analysis investigations on project-related issues.
• Assists technical staff with the creation of quality plans and acceptance criteria lists, and selection of hold points on vendors' manufacturing inspection plans.
• Quality oversight to support supplier qualification and verification activities to ensure work is performed in strict accordance with requirements.
• Maintain the List of Approved/Qualified Suppliers.
• Promote Continuous Improvement and the timely reporting of all conditions that affect Quality.
• Lead and mentor personnel to ensure the correct behaviors are developed and reinforced.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 5 years of experience in quality assurance, with 2 years nuclear quality experience in a Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), or similar environment.
• Knowledge of Quality standards such as ISO 9001, ASME NQA-1, and ASME III.
• Current Lead Auditor Certification.
• Experience with Software QA in accordance with NQA-1-2022, Part II, Subpart 2.7.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work and demonstrate critical thinking individually and as part of a diverse team.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with uranium fuel production and enrichment. • Experience with commercial grade dedication.
• Previous certification in non-destructive examination.
Special Requirements
• Q Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position requires passing a background check and a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
• This position requires access to radiologically controlled areas. Ability to meet all safety requirements is mandatory.
• Business travel to support supplier surveys and/or company audits.
