Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing plant automation systems. You will support multiple projects and service calls, providing post-project support and troubleshooting. In addition, you may act as a project manager for smaller projects, ensuring successful implementation using in-house methods and vendor hardware/software. You will collaborate closely with customers to meet project needs and support sales staff with proposals and technical guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and implement plant automation systems.
  • Support multiple projects and service calls.
  • Provide post-project support and troubleshooting.
  • Act as project manager for smaller projects.
  • Implement automation using in-house methods and vendor hardware/software.
  • Work with customers to meet project needs.
  • Support sales staff with proposals and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on large projects.
  • Complete ISO documentation and weekly time entry.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in plant process control.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA.
  • Programming experience for reactors, distillation, combustion, batch/continuous chemical processes, mixing, and metering.
  • Platform experience with Siemens PCS7, Emerson DeltaV, and Honeywell Experion.
  • Strong math, problem-solving, and PC skills.
  • Networking and Ethernet knowledge.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in office and plant site settings, with approximately 20% travel. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights of 1520 feet. The environment includes office, plant floor, and build shop settings. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $55.29/hr.
