Full Job Description

The Cybersecurity Project Manager is responsible for monitoring and reporting on all security operations and technology solutions/incidents. They will lead new project implementations with a cybersecurity focus, act as the first responder for security incidents, oversee critical security systems such as management, IPS, and vulnerability management, participate in employee awareness training, analyze security events on the network or endpoints, and serve as a security SME for other IS staff. The role includes vendor due diligence to ensure compliance with federal, state, and bank regulations, collaborating with IT to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities, researching new technologies, coordinating teams towards organizational goals, and managing project metrics and timelines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement information security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  2. Identify and address security visibility gaps.
  3. Monitor and analyze logs from intrusion detection systems, firewalls, network traffic, and host systems.
  4. Perform daily security system monitoring and respond to alerts.
  5. Oversee vulnerability management, ensuring endpoints are scanned and patched appropriately.
  6. Document cybersecurity operations procedures and assist with policy development and violation reporting.
  7. Audit access control and authentication processes.
  8. Support network and server teams with security baselines and configurations.
  9. Audit data and file access.
  10. Continue education to stay current in the infosec field.
  11. Oversee endpoint security health and alerting.
  12. Manage SIEM tools and review IDS/IPS policies.
  13. Define and adjust SSL inspection and CA services policies.
  14. Manage internal PKI for authentication.
  15. Handle firewall access control requests and vendor questionnaires.
  16. Assist in developing and launching new products and services.
  17. Manage projects, budgets, metrics, and goals.
  18. Negotiate contracts.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with network security tools and applications.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, VMWare, Nessus, and Exchange.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Discretion and tact when interacting at all levels.
  • Professional attitude and positive demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and judgment skills.
  • Participation in annual audits.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS CSC, NIST, GDPR, PCI, etc.
