The activity coordinator plans, organizes and directs a therapeutic activities program in order to provide adult patients with acceptable outlets for creativity, expression, socialization, exercise and learning experiences within the confines of treatment aims. Counsels and shares educational information with patients. Verbally communicates events to appropriate staff. Determines program needs and purchases supplies in cooperation with the Clinical Director. Participates in treatment teams on a rotating basis in cooperation with the Clinical Director. Counsels patients in selection of activities which meet leisure item needs and interests utilizing existing skills. Meets with Clinical Director as needed.
