JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
The IT Purchasing Manager plays a pivotal role in managing all national IT category expenditures. This includes overseeing purchasing, inventory and asset management, supplier selection, logistics, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role demands effective collaboration across various departments, engaging with senior leadership and support teams. Responsibilities also encompass the management of buyers for technology hardware, software, and services.

Essential Functions

  • Build and nurture relationships with internal business stakeholders, suppliers, technology leaders, and executive partners.
  • Achieve the best total cost of ownership through strategic sourcing, conducting RFx processes, and negotiating effectively.
  • Reduce corporate risk by executing thorough contract negotiations, overseeing supply chain dynamics, and maintaining process documentation for compliance.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators focused on cost savings, delivery timelines, effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as the initial point of escalation for all matters related to strategic suppliers and asset issues with business stakeholders.
  • Assess and select standard software, hardware, and service suppliers in collaboration with internal teams based on business requirements.
  • Partner with technology leaders to evaluate strategic opportunities and future initiatives.
  • Oversee quarterly reviews with suppliers and manage vendor performance evaluations.
  • Manage inventory levels and resupply protocols for technology products across various warehouses using an established approval process.
  • Engage in contract renewals and collaborate with legal teams for contract assessments.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and asset recovery teams to manage the disposal of company-owned assets.
  • Collaborate with the Asset team on lifecycle management for technology products, including software, hardware, and services.

Work Environment
This job takes place in a professional office environment, utilizing typical office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time role, with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required to meet project deadlines.

Travel
Minimal travel (less than 5%) is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's in Business Management or Supply Chain
  • 5+ years of progressive procurement experience
  • 3+ years focused on IT procurement
  • 2+ years of management experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 7+ years in supply chain roles involving strategic sourcing, vendor management, and logistics
  • 5+ years in IT procurement
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • CPSM Certification
  • Familiarity with Service Now
