Engineering Intern

Create and maintain electrical drawings and schematics. Engineering support and troubleshooting during field construction. Experience with troubleshooting electrical controls and reading electrical schematics. Assist in the development of project scopes, preliminary layouts, and cost estimates. Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture. Gain knowledge about Steel Making processes through job shadowing and hands on activities Intern will spend time in each job role throughout the department. Works cross functionally under direction to improve manufacturing/department processes. Completes special projects as assigned by their manager, to include analysis and change continuous improvement recommendations as requested. Plan, coordinate, and communicate with peers and supervisors daily to ensure safe operations, preservation of company assets, environmental compliance, cost and energy consciousness, and to promote the values of the CMC people program.

Ability to work in extreme heat. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment required. PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures. Ability to work independently with moderate level of direction. Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail. Passion for innovation and a leader for change. Must be at least 18 years old. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Knowledge of basic electrical safety in accordance with NFPA-70E.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Structural, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
