As a Systems Engineer II, you will be part of a team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technology guidelines and standards, and processes associated with release management in a large-scale enterprise environment with multiple business units.
About The Team
This position will work within the Systems Engineering Release Management team in Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO), alongside other teams such as Information Security, Infrastructure, and Software Development to implement and oversee projects and solutions, including the planning, scheduling, testing, and deployment of software, impacting the enterprise and its various business units.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain GitHub Enterprise, including repository management, branch protection rules, access controls, and integration with enterprise authentication systems.
- Monitor GitHub environments for security events, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations; respond to findings and coordinate remediation with development teams.
- Collaborate with security and DevOps teams to embed DevSecOps principles across all stages of the SDLC using GitHub as the core platform.
- Provide guidance to developers and project teams on GitHub best practices, secure workflows, and safe use of third-party integrations.
- Evaluate and implement GitHub-native and third-party security tools to improve visibility and resilience of the CI/CD ecosystem.
- Mentor junior engineers in GitHub administration, secure pipeline development, and DevSecOps methodologies
- Develop and maintain scripts in PowerShell and other languages, to automate routine tasks.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing scripts for performance and reliability.
- Ensure proper access controls and security measures are in place.
- Respond to and resolve issues reported in the incident queue system within required SLA.
- Prioritize incidents based on severity and impact to business operations.
- Create application deployments and security baselines for all workstations.
- Create and update process documentation to reflect current procedures.
- Build and support both physical and virtual server infrastructure.
- Monitor server performance and conduct maintenance as needed.

Primary Qualifications - Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Batch, Bash, Python, etc.)
- Fundamental understanding of server operating systems. (Windows Server 2012 - 2022)
- Fundamental understanding of client operating systems. (Windows 10 - 11, Apple macOS)
- Fundamental understanding of hardware concepts. (Disk, Memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, Firmware, RAID, etc.)
- Hands-on experience working tickets from an incident queue system.
- Hands-on experience creating and updating process documentation and user guides.
- Experience building and supporting physical and virtual servers.
- Familiarity with Office365 technologies.
- Conceptual understanding of Mobile Device Management tools. (Intune)
Desired Skills - Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Aldon (RDOI Rocket Dev Ops) or iSeries Knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities.
