Inserter I (Part-Time)

The Knoxville News Sentinel has immediate openings for part-time inserters. This is a great position to earn additional funds on the weekend including college students looking for extra income! Currently our need is Friday through Tuesday, with periodic options for Wednesday & Thursday. Hours: 4:00 P.M. -12:00 A.M.

Perform various functions necessary to package, insert and distribute supplements for daily and Sunday newspapers.

Ensure each bundle through stacker lines is properly wrapped and tied for delivery to Transportation.

Stack skids with bundles of newspapers.

Check bundles for accurate counts & quality.

Feed inserts into hoppers or hopper loaders.

Hand insert newspapers.

Help with general cleaning of the production area.

Requirements:

GED/High School diploma or extensive related experience in a manufacturing environment Good verbal communication skills required. Must be able to repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing up to 25 pounds.
