The client is a Knoxville-based general contractor with a strong track record in wastewater infrastructure construction. They specialize in building treatment plants, pump stations, and underground utilities, and are known for their commitment to quality, safety, and collaboration with public agencies and engineering firms.

Job Description
  • Technical Support: Assist with interpreting plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure construction aligns with engineering requirements.
  • Document Control: Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and as-built drawings, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Field Coordination: Work closely with superintendents and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and support daily construction activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor construction practices to ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and project specifications.
  • Schedule & Budget Tracking: Support the project manager in tracking progress, identifying delays, and managing cost impacts.
  • Client & Engineer Liaison: Communicate with design engineers and clients to clarify technical details and coordinate approvals.
  • Permitting & Compliance: Assist in ensuring all work meets environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is a technically proficient and organized engineering professional with a background in civil or environmental engineering and a strong interest in wastewater infrastructure. They are comfortable working in both office and field environments, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and are eager to grow within a dynamic construction team. A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is preferred, along with 2-4 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore) and knowledge of regulatory standards is a plus.
