Job Description
We are seeking a highly capable and independent Junior Lawyer to support a UK-based law firm across a diverse caseload involving civil litigation, family law, and commercial litigation. This is a fully remote role, ideal for someone with post-qualification or closely equivalent experience, who can work directly with solicitors on legal drafting, case strategy, client communication, and procedural matters.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of UK legal processes and will be comfortable handling matters from inception to resolution under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, witness statements, consent orders, and pre-action letters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, opinion notes, or procedural advice.
- Liaise directly with clients, courts, and third parties on case progress.
- Assist in preparing trial bundles, disclosure lists, and evidence management.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and Family Procedure Rules (FPR).
- Support senior lawyers in hearings, correspondence, and settlement negotiations.
- Contribute to internal case reviews and practice updates.
Requirements
- Law degree or legal training.
- 24 years of experience working on UK legal cases, ideally with exposure to civil, family, and/or commercial litigation.
- Strong understanding of UK litigation processes, Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), and Family Procedure Rules (FPR).
- Excellent legal drafting and research skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with UK legal software (e.g., LEAP, Clio, Proclaim) is an advantage.
