Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a professional kitchen.
• Understanding of food preparation and sanitation standards.
• Must clear a criminal background check and drug screen.

Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience in schools, country clubs, or hospitals is a plus.
• Certified Kitchen Assistant certification is a plus.

Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ensure all food prepared meets high-quality standards.
• Maintain inventory levels and order food products as needed.
• Keep the kitchen clean and safe, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
• Perform daily inventory checks and maintain proper food storage.
• Assist with cleaning prep areas and perform daily cleaning duties in the kitchen.
