Overview: The Electrical Field Engineer II plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing project controls across various disciplines. This position encompasses responsibilities such as providing direct support to a Craft Superintendent, collecting quantities, scheduling, contract administration, project planning, procurement, and reporting on project status.

The role requires effective interaction with all stakeholders, including clients, engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors, while maintaining ongoing strategic communication with project management.

Location & Travel Details: This is a traveling, project-based role that may require up to 90% travel across the U.S. You may be assigned to project sites in any state and typically spend 8 to 18 months on each project. A competitive base salary is supplemented with designated per diem for living expenses, mobilization support, and time off allowances including a longer weekend every four weeks.

Responsibilities:

  • Act professionally in all client interactions.
  • Produce contract-required reports including weekly and monthly updates.
  • Understand and adhere to corporate and site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct quantity calculations and track completed work measurements.
  • Create and review work plans and packages for efficiency.
  • Support site quality plans and ensure timely completion of inspections.
  • Manage daily labor timesheets and workforce reports.
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules.
  • Plan and execute jobsite activities for optimal workflow.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and drafting to assist field operations.
  • Prepare purchase orders and manage procurement functions.
  • Support and supervise subcontractor activities directly on-site.
  • Maintain comprehensive project records and correspondence documentation.
  • Develop and monitor project controls including labor and equipment tracking.
  • Facilitate master project scheduling and change order generation.
  • Ensure proper administration of accounting and job cost updates.
  • Assist in budgeting by converting estimates to phase codes.
  • Alert project management to trends affecting project costs.
  • Forecast cash flow to ensure project financial health.
  • Serve as a primary company representative when needed.
  • Understand prime contract terms and prepare customer invoices.

Supervisory:

  • Support a workforce of up to 50 when required.
  • Guide 1-2 Field Engineers.
  • Oversee parts of the field office staff, including engineers and support personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer or in a similar capacity.

Hours: This full-time position typically requires 50 hours of work per week, subject to project timelines.

Travel: Extensive travel is required, necessitating presence directly at project sites.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation ranges from $80,000 to $110,000, based on experience.
