Welder Position

We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team, specializing in MIG welding to construct trailer components. You will employ various welding techniques, including gas metal arc, plasma arc, and shielded metal arc welding, to ensure high-quality results. Your role will involve safely operating welding equipment, inspecting workpieces for defects, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities:

  • Use MIG welding technique to weld trailer components.
  • Operate welding gear and equipment safely.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and notify supervisor of any concerns.
  • Perform repairs as needed.
  • Use measuring tapes, combination squares, and levels to lay out, position, align, and secure parts before assembly.
  • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating or material distortion.
  • Sign off on completed work orders and ensure quality of work.
  • Maintain, organize, and clean workstation and equipment.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in MIG welding.
  • Experience with hand tools and equipment used in production.
  • Ability to read blueprints and execute welding tasks accordingly.
  • Knowledge of welding processes for stainless steel, carbon steel, and structural steel.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and combination squares.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with TIG welding and flux core processes.
  • Familiarity with grinding and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
