Laundry Attendant/Driver

SUMMARY: Supervise work activities of the laundry personnel to ensure the laundry rooms are running efficiently and are clean and orderly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Review any written direction from laundry manager for shift
  • Communicate with resort manger/supervisors needs for shift
  • Communicate with maintenance any equipment issues
  • Perform hands on duties of laundry attendant
  • Understanding of the Press and Alarms
  • Train Employees
  • Enter all Discards/Damages in log
  • Assist with Quarterly Inventory
  • Attend monthly Safety Meeting
  • Vacuum press filters
  • Knowledge of procedure to follow in case of employee accident/incident
  • Load/Unload Washers Dryers
  • Sort Terry Linens
  • Feed Fitted Sheets with partner
  • Clamp flat sheets on press
  • Run pillowcases in designated lanes
  • Catch sheets at folder of press
  • Build Queen Sheet set metros
  • Build King Set Metros
  • Build Twin Set Metros
  • Build Pillowcase Metro
  • Run production of Bath Towels, Hand Towels, Bath Mats
  • Load Metros on truck using ratchet straps
  • Clean washer filters
  • Clean Dryer Filters every 2 hours
  • Lock the main door if manager is off duty

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees under the direction of the Department Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and assisting in disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: (Level 3) High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: (Level 3) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: (Level 3) Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: (Level 2) Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPR Certification
  • Valid Tennessee Drivers Licenses or ability to obtain one with 30 days of employment

  • Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather,) work near moving mechanical parts, fumes and/or airborne particles, extreme hat (non-weather,) risk of electrical shock and vibration
  • Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic and/or caustic chemicals and high precarious places
