The Opportunity:
- This document prescribes the expectations, skills, and education / experience requirements for the position identified.
- Execute job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Each person, regardless of role or position, is responsible for Food Packaging Safety and Quality and GMP.
- Responsible for running any gluer safely, producing conforming cartons at a high rate of speed to achieve production standards with minimal waste.
- Complete all hourly checks and maintain quality consistent with GMP practices and specifications.
- Complete all production and process control documentation.
- Relieve crew members for breaks, lunches and communicate with crew members to solve any problems that may arise quickly.
- Assist with make readies on all gluers efficiently and complete all key areas of the Start Up Checklist prior to sign-off and start-up.
- Determine machine speed and always know approximate production. Exceed minimum production standards.
- Know approximately how many more cartons to glue and how many more cases are needed to complete an order.
- Check and understand all detection systems, electronic counters as well as sensors.
- Assist Operator to make machine adjustments to maintain machine at safety, quality, and production standards.
- Promote teamwork within crew to minimize machine downtime.
- Check for scrap and quality defects on flat stock; continuously check for quality defects of the finished product.
- Accurately count, label, and inventory products they produce and materials coming to their work area.
- Perform preventive maintenance and upkeep on production equipment.
- Keep area in specs within all 5S requirements.
- Work in a fast-paced environment. Complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Report any issue or event that poses a risk to employee safety, the environment and facilities, or food packaging safety and quality.
- Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, corrective actions, and training.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the demonstration of tact, sensitivity, and professionalism.
- Must have the ability to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed, significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must have basic personal computer skills.

- Compliance with Safety expectations as listed in Employee Handbook.
