Details for Part-Time Custodian / General Maintenance Position:
• $15 / Hour
• Typical schedule: Monday and Wednesday 8am-1pm, Friday 5pm-10pm, plus one Thursday per month 10am-2pm and occasional Saturdays 9am-2pm (approximately 15-20 hours per week)
• Part-Time | Short-Term Temp

Job Duties for Part-Time Custodian / General Maintenance Position:
• Provide facilities support to maintain overall cleanliness and ensure a healthy, welcoming environment for congregants, visitors, and staff
• Attend all special events, including Jewish holidays, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Rabbi's Lunch & Learn, and other occasions that may require extended hours
• Perform major and minor cleaning of all facilities including the sanctuary, auditorium, classrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, lobby, offices, and building exterior
• Handle cleaning tasks such as dusting, polishing silver, treating drains, cleaning windows, emptying trash, wiping walls, vacuuming, mopping, and operating the dishwasher as needed
• Set up and take down for all events and activities including services, receptions, and gatherings
• Manage event preparation such as arranging and removing tables, chairs, tablecloths, utensils, and coffee setup, and assisting with furniture movement
• Open and close the building, set alarm systems, monitor security cameras, and assist with security watch before, during, and after events
• Coordinate with the Office Administrator and House & Property Committee for maintenance and repair vendor access
• Assist the Office Administrator in maintaining supply inventory and ensuring adequate stock levels
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Complete additional tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications and Desired Skills for Part-Time Custodian / General Maintenance Position:
• High school diploma required
• Respect for faith-based environments and communities
• Professional image with strong customer service skills when interacting with volunteers, congregants, and visitors
• Solid understanding of commercial cleaning practices
• Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy, organization, and a hands-on approach
• Good communication skills and ability to work cohesively with other team members
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
