The Position:

The Supervisor of Facility Maintenance plays a key role in managing and planning the repair and upkeep of airport facilities and equipment to ensure smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This position oversees contractor work to guarantee quality and timely completion, conducts project inspections, and coordinates repairs with tenants. The role also involves resolving employee conflicts, recommending process and system improvements and assisting with budget forecasting by identifying needs and resources. Additionally, the supervisor maintains inventory of stock and supplies within established budget limits.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff, including making hiring and termination recommendations in accordance with MKAA policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize assignments, direct work, and develop employee schedules; approve time off requests.
  • Provide or facilitate employee training and development; counsel or discipline as appropriate.
  • Process employee concerns, complete performance appraisals, and recommend salary adjustments in line with MKAA policies.
  • Act as liaison between employees and higher-level management.
  • Prepare and maintain work orders and assignments to ensure departmental efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project contractors and inspect completed projects for quality assurance.
  • Oversee planning, administration, and execution of building repairs and maintenance to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments for seamless facility management.
  • Manage access control systems, including electronic keying and campus-wide gates.
  • Inspect and ensure quality control for equipment such as boarding bridges, baggage handling systems, vertical lift systems, and HVAC units.
  • Participate in defining overall departmental objectives.
  • Performs related duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of modern office practices and software, as well as general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities maintenance. They should be knowledgeable in plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and other building systems, along with ADA, OSHA, and TOSHA standards. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), building automation systems (BAS), and multiple building trades is essential. Strong leadership skills, effective organizational and time management abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication are key. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships, deliver exceptional customer service, prioritize projects, and apply attention to detail along with problem-solving skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidates should possess an associate's degree or equivalent
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, building systems, and/or construction
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in leading teams or managing projects (preferred)
  • A professional maintenance or construction license - such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or General Contracting - is also preferred.


Salary and Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $82,291.55 to $106,979.02, with the final offer based on experience (DOE).
