JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Clerk is a multi-tasking position responsible for various accounting support responsibilities, such as vendor accounts payable invoice processing/entry into the accounting system, sending customer statements each month, and customer accounts receivable collections, administrative support and other duties as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by a job incumbent. An employee will be required to follow other job-related duties required by the manager.

70% Accounts Payable Invoice Processing:
- Accounts Payable invoice entry into SAP in the proper accounting period and in a timely manner.
- Responds to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, etc... as needed, via email or phone call.

20% Accounts Receivable:
- Processes and sends customer statements with balances owed each month via email.
- Monitors accounts receivable balances and notifies customers of past due outstanding balances via email or phone call, working with customer to determine payment status.

10% Administrative Support:
- Greets and registers visitors in a courteous and professional manner and verifies proper identification and citizenship.
- Answers phone switchboard in a courteous and efficient manner and directs calls to proper personnel.
- Receives incoming faxes and forwards to appropriate TEC recipients.
- Receives, sorts and distributes all incoming mail.
- Manages postage meter by ordering supplies for the meter and ensuring invoices are processed through accounting.
- Assists with bulk mailings, printing, and filing.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES
• Prior accounts payable entry processing experience required
• Prior accounts receivable invoicing and customer statement processing required
• Experience contacting vendors and customers to resolve any matters
• Experience contacting customers regarding past due balances
• Previous general office experience required
• Applied knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• Prior experience with SAP preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professionalism and reliability
• Strong keyboarding skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be clearly understood and have a good command of the English language.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, and ability to take initiative
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
• Ability to demonstrate professional discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times

EDUCATION/TRAINING/LICENSES
• High School Diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• Works predominately at office desk: periodic computer work, carrying out both manual and repetitive arm, hand and finger movements in regards to computerized data entry and data processing tasks; and providing verbal contact with customers and co-workers.
• Job requires the ability to lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects 1 lb. to 10 lbs. frequently and in excess of 10 lbs. occasionally.
• Job requires walking or standing frequently and may include periodic bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing as duties require.
• Works in environmentally controlled work area with adequate lighting.
• Mental activities necessary include concentration, organizational and communication skills.
