Responsibilities:

The Dining Services Director is responsible for managing the food service program at a single facility, ensuring high standards of food quality, inventory management, safety, and outstanding customer service. This role requires strict adherence to facility menus, as well as compliance with federal, state, and local regulations along with HCSG policies to consistently deliver excellent dining services.

  • Lead and develop the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment utilizing HCSG software.
  • Conduct staff training and quality control audits; perform dietary aide, cook, or dishwasher duties as needed.
  • Communicate directives from management and staff effectively throughout the team.
  • Ensure the safe use of cleaning solutions and promptly report any equipment needs or malfunctions.
  • Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures to ensure a clean environment.
  • Maintain punctuality and timely completion of tasks.
  • Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions with residents, co-workers, and management.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in food service management or hospitality, including relevant coursework preferred.
  • Two years of experience in large-scale food service management and personnel supervision preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred (or as required by state and county law).
  • Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) certification within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with residents, administration, and team members to perform daily tasks.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is required.
  • Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds and perform tasks involving standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks continuously.
  • Must be able to work safely with food and cleaning products.
  • Basic computer skills to maintain records and complete reports as necessary, including web-based reporting.
  • May need to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
  • Residency within the service area is required.
