As an Operations Support Specialist, you will be responsible for specific administrative tasks and projects that will support various areas of plant operations. You will be responsible for assisting in managing logistics, materials, supply chain, production planning, and manufacturing functions of the plant. The Operations Specialist will have ongoing communications with operations personnel at other plants, customers, suppliers, sales managers, and customer service personnel. Essential Functions Administrative:
Communicate with operations personnel at other plants, customers, suppliers, sales managers and sales support personnel
Use Chempax system (manufacturing software) to run reports, find information, print orders, enter data and update data
Run/Create reports using various computer systems and software
Interface with customer ERP systems for data entry and retrieval (SAP, Oracle, etc)
Interface with customer ERP systems and integrate customer requirements in plant production planning
Operations/Logistics:
Enter purchase orders and work with suppliers/customers on scheduling and confirming delivery times
Monitor inventory and assist in quarterly physical inventory counts and reports
Monitor open orders and communicate with customers and Sales support representatives on delivery dates
Coordinate with customers, suppliers, carriers and our other plants to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
Analyze inventories, production issues, quality data, logistics, dispatching, truck rail scheduling
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Operations, industrial management, procurement, logistics, supply chain or similar is preferred)
Experience in a manufacturing environment and understanding of manufacturing process
Computer knowledge (good understanding of ERP software and Microsoft Office software)
Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Familiarity with business management software (SAP, Chempax, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Work with various computer systems (internal and customer/supplier systems)
Information management - Run reports, analyze data, and manage various types of information in various formats
