About HappyCo

At HappyCo, we believe in fostering a workplace where careers can flourish, free from ego and office politics. We are driven by our core values and offer a flexible, supportive culture. Join us and help make work a happier place!

Are You Ready for a Change?

If you're a maintenance technician looking to move away from the physical toll of daily work, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a clean shop, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Utilize your Spanish-speaking skills daily as you assist apartment residents with minor maintenance and repair needs, all from the comfort of your own home. Our innovative Happy Force software allows maintenance technicians to help residents remotely via text, phone, and video calls, enhancing the maintenance experience for multifamily apartments across the nation.

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced, and tech-savvy Maintenance Technicians (Bilingual - Spanish speaking is a plus!) to join our Happy Force team. This role mirrors the responsibilities of on-site maintenance technicians at apartment complexes, but you will work from home instead! To succeed as a Virtual Technician, you should have substantial on-site multifamily maintenance experience and be able to troubleshoot a variety of resident-reported issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service to residents in multifamily, single-family, and student homes.
  • Utilize Happy Force software to review and prioritize incoming tickets while assisting residents virtually.
  • Provide step-by-step guidance to residents through SMS and phone interactions following standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain communication with property teams regarding operations and escalations.
  • Identify and escalate emergency issues using property-specific procedures.
  • Guide residents through mitigation steps for emergencies to reduce property damage.
  • Participate in feedback sessions to improve product use.
  • Exhibit flexibility and work various shifts as needed.

Daily Expectations

  • Process incoming work orders until completed.
  • Triage emergency maintenance calls and escalate to onsite teams where necessary.
  • Engage with residents via text, phone, and video calls.
  • Conduct troubleshooting for basic maintenance issues.
  • Collaborate with Happy Force Technicians, Leads, and corporate team members.

Qualifications for Success

  • A minimum of five years' experience in on-site residential maintenance.
  • Fluent in both verbal and written English; Spanish fluency is a strong asset.
  • Basic computer skills; proficiency in Zoom and Google Docs is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of the dynamics between residents, property management, and maintenance staff.
  • Capability to accurately assess and prioritize issue types.
  • Proven aptitude for quickly troubleshooting and resolving basic maintenance problems.
  • An enthusiastic disposition with a genuine desire to help others.

Keys to Thriving at HappyCo

  • Willingness to uplift others and enhance the resident and site maintenance experience.
  • Empower teams instead of merely enforcing standards.
  • Utilize technology to provide accessible solutions for all.
  • Exhibit a proactive attitude with a strong growth mindset.
  • Experience in the multifamily residential property industry is a plus.

This full-time position starts at $24/hour and allows you to work with our Happy Force team to address on-site maintenance challenges while gaining exposure to new products, technologies, and experiences.

HappyCo collaborates with TCW as your Employer of Record, offering benefits including paid vacation and sick time, a work-from-home stipend, and company-subsidized healthcare.
