The Checkout Associate plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service through efficient and friendly checkout experiences. Flexibility to adapt to various tasks as needed in a team-oriented environment is essential.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• $18 / hour
• Ensure a clean, friendly, and fully stocked experience for every customer
• Process customer transactions accurately using POS systems and all accepted payment methods
• Comply with state alcoholic beverage laws when handling beer sales
• Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
• Handle exchanges and refunds following company policy
• Accurately reconcile shift reports
• Maintain a neat and organized checkout area
• Support in stocking, rotating merchandise, and labeling products
• Act as the first point of contact for customer complaints
• Train new associates
• Carry out additional tasks as required
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and during peak store hours
• Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic math skills
• Active listening and clear communication with customers
• Mastery of P.O.S. functions
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Capability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, and lift/carry up to 40-50 pounds regularly
• Perform cleaning and light maintenance with proper chemicals
• May involve periodic exposure to various outdoor conditions throughout the year
• Previous cashier experience is preferred
