Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Knoxville, TN

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and developmentof advanced digital, analog, and mixed‑signal electronic systems. This role is ideal for someone with deep hands-on engineering experience across full product life cycles — from concept through production release — and who thrives on solving complex technical challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with microcontroller‑based embedded systems, DSP/FPGA-based designs, and mixed-signal architecture
• Demonstrated ability to design and release original digital and analog circuits into production (multiple completed design cycles)
• Strong background in power supply design (linear & DC‑DC), motion control interfaces, and sensor integration
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout oversight using tools such as Altium or similar platforms
• Demonstrated experience in board validation, debugging, test development, and verification methodologies
• Ability to define, validate, and document design requirements through full development cycles (Concept → Prototype → Production)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting or modifying legacy PCB designs, including obsolescence management, redesign for manufacture, and troubleshooting existing circuitry
• Background leading multi-disciplinary design efforts and serving as the primary/lead electrical engineer on complex programs
• Strong familiarity with board firmware development or cross-functional firmware collaboration (as indicated in questionnaire workload distribution)
• Experience balancing circuit design, schematic capture, board build, validation, and troubleshooting workflows over multiple projects
• Comfort managing technical tradeoffs, performing structured problem-solving, and resolving unexpected project issues based on prior real-world scenarios
