Overview

Appointment Type: Full-Time Regular (FTR)

Location: Oak Ridge, TN

Salary Range: $16.11 - $21.54 per hour

Purpose: To provide a variety of administrative activities in support of the Professional Training Programs (PTP). To assist the registrar with registrations, preparation and delivery of training courses, as well as associated tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for PTP training courses to include:
    • Assist with course participant registration and communication
    • Compile course notebook and coordinate reviews
    • Set up and clean up the training classroom
    • Inventory and order course materials and supplies
    • Prepare badges and coordinate with Safeguards and Security (S&S) for activation
    • Prepare shipping orders


  • Prepare purchase requisitions and obtain and maintain a purchasing card (P-card) for emergency transactions.
  • Prepare cost estimates and travel for technical staff.
  • Prepare invoices for customers.
  • Act as property custodian for PTP.
  • Assist with the coordination of advertising such as PTP flyers, mugs and Health Physics Society (HPS) Newsletter.


Qualifications

High school Diploma and 1-2 years of directly related experience. Higher level education above minimum may count for additional experience.

  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written, and a customer-friendly attitude is required.
  • Punctuality and attendance during training courses is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to handle the physical organization of the office and classroom space.
  • Business office operational experience, previous registration or event planning experience, and administrative experience with training or educational programs is a plus.
  • Demonstrated attention to processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to arrive at the training facility by 7:15 a.m. to greet course participants and assist training staff with final course preparation.

*The candidate's starting salary will be determined upon hire and ORAU will use salary survey data, internal comparators, and the candidate's qualifications to determine salary.
