Who You Are:

The Shop Laborer provides general assistance to the production manager and production supervisor in day-to-day manufacturing operations to maximize growth, profitability, and efficiency. He or she will be tasked with daily and weekly housekeeping duties within the shop and facility grounds.

The Shop Laborer will also be tasked with aiding the welding/fitting teams with cutting, grinding, assembly, testing and other finishing work.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety practices and PPE according to OSHA and AVANTech's procedures.
  • Assist with the receipt and storage of fabrication materials.
  • Build made-to-order hoses according to given work orders.
  • Prep pipe fittings and pipe ends for threading and welding on pipe assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols used to fabricate piping assemblies or skids.
  • Perform hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure test on built piping and hoses.
  • Safely operate a fork truck in an indoor/outdoor environment.
  • Palletize equipment to be shipped cross-country.
  • Perform all tasks involved in painting operations, including prep, application, and cleaning.
What Will Set You Up for Success:
  • A high level of safe working practices is vital.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to correctly read a tape measure and bubble level.
  • Must be able to correctly operate power and hand tools.
  • Must have a willingness and ability to work overtime to support business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written, are preferred.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, and assembly of structural and mechanical equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to operate machinery, such as ironworker, end-mill & lathe experience desired.

AdditionalRequirements

Allcandidates must be able to pass a drug test, pre-employment physical, andbackground investigation.

Highawareness of safe working practices and procedures.

JobType & Compensation:

Full-time, hourly, nonexempt.
