Portland Utilities Construction Co., LLC, a water and wastewater sewer pipe rehabilitation specialist for over 30 years, has a position open for a construction laborer on its current sewer rehabilitation construction projects. Education/Experience

Completion of heavy equipment operator school or enrollment in an accredited construction labor or heavy equipment operator apprentice program

6 months to 2-year underground utility construction experience or commercial building construction experience.

Job responsibilities include performing construction tasks related to sewer pipe repair operations that support the foreman and skilled production workers to ensure project goals are met.

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Locating existing pipe that needs repair or replacement by hand or with trenching tools;

Pipe and Manhole material handling with certified chains; Roll up hoses;

Working with team to ensure pipe is installed safely and correctly; performing labor duties to assist production team; (Top Man- make things easier for the production crew)

Grade or level trench bases using tamping machines or hand-tools; Compact materials to create level bases;
