Position Summary:

Daily cleaning of floors in corridors and other assigned areas. Project cleaning of walls, lights, windows, etc. following established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.

• Demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals, necessary to shampoo carpets, buff floors, vacuum carpet, extract carpet.

• Collects trash from utility rooms and other trash collection points and transports to compactor area. Cleans trash cans and reline with plastic bags upon request. Demonstrates proper handling of bio-hazardous wastes.

• Maintains floors, baseboards and carpets in good condition by dust mopping, polishing, vacuuming, damp buffing, shampooing and extracting.

• Daily checks assigned equipment and has repairs made when needed.

• Assists in cleaning of emergency spills that are observed or upon request.

• Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furnishings, buildings and fixtures.

• Performs duties of a Housekeeper I if needed.

• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience:

Six (6) months experience performing professional housekeeping functions.
