Shipping and Receiving Worker

As a Shipping and Receiving Worker, you will be responsible for optimizing processes, tracking performance, ensuring quality assurance, and managing packaging and labeling tasks. You will play a crucial role in transporting materials, maintaining inventory control, and facilitating smooth warehouse operations.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and enforce standards for process time, settings, and other specifications to enhance output and maintain quality conditions.
  • Provide tracking and feedback on results to the team, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Examine outgoing shipments for any product defects, ensuring only high-quality products leave our facility.
  • Assemble cardboard containers or use pre-assembled containers, insert items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
  • Stamp or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto boxes or containers, post weights, shipping charges, and affix postage.
  • Transport materials and finished products to appropriate departments or storage locations.
  • Assist the Shipping Technician in maintaining accurate inventory records.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 1-2 years of progressive experience in a shipping or warehouse environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Prior forklift experience is essential.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable assistance.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as electric saw, air nail gun, hammer, banding equipment, and crowbar.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
  • Sufficient mobility to allow frequent entrance and exits from a lift truck.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Reading, writing, and mathematical competency.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
