Quality Assurance Manager
Position summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for defining, directing, organizing and implementing Food Safety and Food Quality Policies for House of Thaller. All Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities must be fulfilled in a manner that places extreme emphasis on Food Safety and Food Quality Programs in place. This role reports directly to the Director of Food Safety.
Primary responsibilities:
Works in conjunction with all Quality Assurance personnel to establish the company direction for Food Safety, Food Quality and Food Defense Programs.
Works with all applicable departmental staff to effectively implement Food Safety, Food Quality and Food Defense Programs for the company.
Works with Quality Assurance personnel to manage Food Safety Certification Programs, Third Party Audit Requirements and Regulatory Requirements.
Maintains a working relationship with regulators, industry trade organizations/associations as well as university researchers.
Manages the QA team including staffing, schedules, PTO, annual reviews, and partnering appropriately with P&C for disciplinary action as needed.
Point of Contact for all Quality / Food Safety related auditors
Leads and Manages Foreign Material investigations.
Responsible for the administration of Food Safety and Quality related training to Elevation Foods employees (Food Safety, GMP, etc.)
Ensures that all Quality Assurance personnel follow all applicable HACCP/SQF/USDA/FDA and SSOP/GMP policies.
Involved actively with HACCP and HARPC Deviations and Reassessments.
Quality Assurance Department Goal Planning
Quality Assurance Department Project Management.
Physical Requirements:
The employee may sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
The employee may be exposed to water, odors, wet floors, chemicals, and machine noise.
The employee may be exposed to uncomfortably warm and cold conditions.
Bending and stooping frequently
The employee may experience high levels of stress.
Requirements and minimum education level:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
1-3 years in Food Manufacturing
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and testing procedures.
Leadership experience and problem-solving skills
