Job Title: Quality Assurance Construction Inspector

Work Location: Atlanta, GA

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Inspectors to provide thoroughoversight of construction projects.
  • Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings efficiently.
  • Monitor construction activities continuously to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Conduct detailed field audits of developer and Independent Construction Quality Assurance (ICQA) processes.
  • Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems to confirm compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist with material sampling and testing, including soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete.
  • Engage in pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams to enhance collaboration.
  • Accurately document and report inspection findings using electronic platforms.
  • Promote and uphold safety practices across all construction activities to ensure a secure workplace.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma with 2 years of roadway-related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • An Associate degree or technical training in civil engineering, construction management, or related fields, along with 5 years of roadway construction experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with highway construction methods, materials, and equipment is essential.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
  • Proficient in using computers and office equipment for reporting and documentation.
  • A valid US Driver's License required for driving company vehicles to job sites, with a successful Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment.
  • Experience with large-scale transportation infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GDOT standards and procedures is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications are advantageous, including:
    • American Concrete Institute (ACI)
    • Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) inspection certifications
  • Proficient in geometry and trigonometry as they relate to construction surveying and layout.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial.
  • Able to work in varied field conditions, including heights, live traffic, proximity to water, and adverse weather conditions.
