Description
If you're looking for a role where you can see the full picture of a hospitality business, this is it. The General Accountant at AATMOS owns both sides of the ledger: property-level accounting (daily revenue, AP/AR, USALI GL) and corporate-level finance (multi-entity reporting, payroll, tax compliance, intercompany). On a lean, growing team, you'll partner directly with the Corporate Controller and maintain relationships with property owners and investors. Your work touches every part of how AATMOS operates and grows.
This is a full-time, office-based position at our corporate office. You'll collaborate daily with a close-knit team where your work is visible, your voice is heard, and your growth is supported.
If you want breadth, real visibility, and a role that genuinely challenges you, this one delivers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Revenue & Cash Management
• Start every day at the source - reconcile revenue across all departments and ensure every number ties to the PMS before anything else moves forward.
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
• Keep the vendor pipeline running clean: process and reconcile AP invoices with accurate USALI coding so payments go out on time every week.
• Process weekly vendor payments, ensuring payment terms are met and early payment discounts are captured.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
• Stay ahead of what's owed - track AR aging monthly and follow up proactively so balances don't age into write-offs.
• Escalate accounts over 60 days to the Corporate Controller for formal collection action.
Payroll Management
• Run semi-monthly payroll for the entire AATMOS team - management, corporate, and hotel employees - accurately and on time across multiple states.
• Validate hours worked and post payroll expenses according to USALI labor categories.
Tax Compliance & Regulatory Filings
• Keep AATMOS penalty-free across every jurisdiction: calculate, reconcile, and remit occupancy, lodging, and sales/use taxes on schedule.
• Manage year-end 1099 reporting for all entities.
General Accounting & Compliance
• Maintain and reconcile all GL accounts per USALI (12th Revised Edition) so every number in the books is defensible.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation with strong internal controls.
Strategic Partnership & Collaboration
• Partner directly with the Corporate Controller to monitor performance, surface issues early, and give ownership the financial clarity to make confident decisions.
• Serve as the liaison between hotel operations and the corporate accounting team.
WHERE THIS ROLE CAN TAKE YOU
AATMOS is actively growing its portfolio. As we expand, so does the scope of this role. High performers will gain direct exposure to:
• Construction and development project accounting for new property builds.
• Investment accounting and ownership-level financial reporting.
Requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or corporate accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and corporate accounting practices.
• Knowledge of USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry) preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software, general ledger systems, Property Management Systems (including M3), and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with payroll processing and multi-state tax compliance.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, office environment.
• Flexibility to support operations during weekends and holidays as business needs arise (with advance notice and appreciation for your time).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time, in-office role at our corporate headquarters. Our team works Monday through Friday in a collaborative, open environment where the accounting function sits close to leadership. Occasional weekend or holiday availability may be required in alignment with hotel operations - we are transparent about expectations and respect your time outside the office.
