Description:

Lead Strategic Sourcing in a Global Industrial Manufacturing Environment

Our client, a global leader and growing rapidly, is driving a major transformation within its supply chain and sourcing organization. If you're a sourcing professional energized by complex categories, global supplier management, and measurable impact — this is your opportunity to shape strategy and lead sourcing execution.

Location: Knoxville, TN

Confidential – Global Industrial Manufacturer

The Opportunity: Sourcing Manager

This high-impact role reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain and will lead a team of sourcing professionals responsible for critical commodities, including steel, aluminum, electrical components, and fabrications. You'll play a key role in strengthening supply continuity, driving cost leadership, and enhancing supplier performance across rapidly growing operations.

This is an ideal fit for a sourcing leader who thrives in a data-driven, hands-on environment — balancing strategic foresight with operational execution.

What You'll Do

  • Lead strategic sourcing for high-value, complex materials supporting the rapidly expanding business unit.
  • Develop multi-tiered sourcing strategies that mitigate risk, ensure continuity, and leverage global supplier partnerships.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and capacity guarantees to secure long-term cost and availability advantages.
  • Mentor and develop a team of 5–6 sourcing professionals, instilling accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement standard work and sourcing KPIs that improve cost, lead time, and supplier quality performance.
  • Drive risk mitigation strategies addressing tariffs, logistics constraints, and market volatility through supplier diversification and proactive forecasting.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years in sourcing or procurement leadership, ideally within industrial, manufacturing, or engineered product environments.
  • Expertise: Strong understanding of fabricated metals, electrical components, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead multi-site teams and manage complex supplier networks.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated results in cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and risk mitigation.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Technical Tools: Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, Lean Six Sigma, and supplier performance analytics.

Why Join This Organization

This company is recognized globally for engineering excellence and product innovation, with a strong pipeline of growth and investment across its operations. You'll join a culture that values integrity, accountability, and data-driven decision making — where sourcing is viewed as a strategic enabler of performance, not just a cost center.

In addition to competitive compensation and benefits, this role offers:

  • High visibility to senior leadership
  • Cross-functional impact across manufacturing and engineering teams
  • Career advancement opportunities within a global enterprise
