POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Effectively utilize Vermeer programs and resources to strengthen existing customer relationships in assigned territory, while actively identifying and cultivating new sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the Vermeer equipment line-up and its applications, as well as awareness of competitive products, industry, and business trends.
  • Enhance the customer experience by collaborating cross-functionally with all departments and effectively communicating with the customer throughout their buying journey, including facilitating equipment start-ups.
  • Equip the customer with Vermeer Confidence Plus and other lifecycle solutions to ensure they are taken care of throughout the life of their machine.
  • Actively participate in routine training courses as assigned, while continuously seeking out opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Support customer and company needs during the financing process, including processing all quotes, sales and lease-purchase agreements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information in the CRM system, including tracking sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions to support data-driven decision making.
  • Conduct professional equipment demonstrations for prospective and existing customers, showcasing product features, capabilities, and proper operation to support their purchasing decisions.
  • Evaluate used equipment for potential trade-in.

  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand role on a consistent basis.
  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to turn negative situations into positive experiences and opportunities.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills for both internal co-workers and external customers and suppliers.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training/certification required.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to meet Heartland insurance providers qualifications.
  • Ability to move body to assess equipment as needed.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales and recycling and forestry industry experience, or equivalent of combined experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Frequent travel, including overnight stays within the territory, is required.
