Pay: $110,000 – $180,000

Location: Sevierville, TN (In-Person)

Pay Range: $110,000–$180,000 per year

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Who We're Looking For:

Someone who embodies our values, operates with integrity, and can provide practical, business-minded legal guidance. This person should be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple areas of real estate and business operations.


About the Role:

We're seeking an In-House Legal Counsel to support Compass' development, operations, and investment activities. This role will provide legal oversight across real estate transactions, contracts, compliance, and risk management while partnering closely with leadership to support strategic growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents

Provide legal support for acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and development projects

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including real estate and landlord-tenant laws

Advise on risk management, corporate governance, and business operations

Support HOA, property management, and hospitality-related legal matters

Manage relationships with outside counsel when needed

Assist with entity structuring, joint ventures, and investor documentation

Stay current on legal trends impacting real estate and development


Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Active license to practice law in Tennessee

3+ years of experience in real estate, corporate, or transactional law

Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills

Ability to translate legal concepts into practical business advice

Highly organized with strong attention to detail
