Pay Rate: $41,350 - $50,780/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.

Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is to provide assistance to students in a computer lab environment, assist instructors with specific lab projects, and maintain lab instrumentation and equipment. The CIT laboratory technician is tasked with managing software and hardware infrastructure to support the CIT program in achieving its educational objectives. This position is a technical support role with significant interaction with both faculty and students.
Essential Functions:
40% Provide assistance to instructors in CIT courses that use hands-on hardware/software resources, specifically Programming, Networking, and Cyber Defense courses. This includes maintenance, management, and administration of physical equipment and software for student and instructor use.
20% Modify instructional systems specific to CIT training needs. Assist faculty and students in setting up and regulating lab assignments and special projects, including hardware and software diagnostics and troubleshooting.
10% Determine specifications for equipment needed for student labs and requisition tools, supplies, and software for classrooms and labs. Coordinate with department leadership to find and acquire suitable instructional technology.
15% Administer servers, install new lab equipment, maintain inventory, and configure existing equipment in partnership with the IT department and facility services.
5% Supervise any student lab workers and monitor the acceptable use of CIT lab equipment.
5% Participate in professional development related to the support and maintenance of information technology, especially in a learning environment.
5% Other duties assigned by immediate supervisors in the development of personal, departmental, and divisional objectives.

Job Requirements:
An Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution,
OR
the ability to obtain an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution within (1) year of initial employment date and a minimum of 5 years related work experience,
OR
A high school diploma/GED equivalent and 7 years related work experience with the ability to obtain an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution within (5) years of initial employment date (candidates must take 6 credit hours per academic year).
Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.
