Job Overview

We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support manufacturing operations by ensuring welded products meet quality, safety, and code standards. This is a hands-on, shop-based role working closely with welders, supervisors, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform visual inspection of production welds
• Verify fit-up, joint preparation, and final weld quality
• Ensure compliance with WPS, welding codes, and drawings
• Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications
• Document inspections, nonconformances, and corrective actions
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain inspection and quality records
• Assist in training and supporting production welders

Required Qualifications
• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication inspection role
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW)
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
• Understanding of manufacturing quality systems
• Strong communication skills

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• PPE required at all times
