Security and Loss Prevention Specialist, NAJob ID: 10428084 | Amazon.com Services LLCWorldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Security and Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazon's Worldwide Operations, affiliate, and retail businesses.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct confidential investigations and prepare prompt written reports of theft, fraud, and critical incidents.Identify vulnerabilities (e.g., loss, associate experience, process improvement, data protection, physical security infrastructure) and define appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.Serve as department liaison and security/crisis management subject‑matter expert for site leadership, keeping them informed on key issues, strategies, and performance metrics.Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostics for problematic devices, engaging and resolving issues with internal and external partners.Travel regionally up to 25% of the time when applicable.Lift up to 49 pounds, frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in environments with variable noise, temperature, and weather conditions; continuously climb and descend stairs when required.Work all shifts—including nights, weekends, and holidays—to support 24/7 operations.A Day in the LifeAs a SLP Specialist, you will join a team of professionals providing security services to business customers across multiple units within a dedicated geographical area. You will perform regular physical security audits, investigate policy violations and loss events, collect information through monitoring systems and data reports, and conduct interviews. Your findings help identify vulnerabilities and contribute to developing mitigating measures. You will interact daily with external security service providers and act as the point of contact for multiple internal and external departments (e.g., legal, HR, local law enforcement). You will also deliver loss‑prevention education and awareness programs to other teams and liaise with stakeholders on policy and procedure.About the TeamThe WWOS organization creates and maintains a secure work environment through policy and implementation guidelines, training of leadership and staff, the use of technology, and auditing of practices to ensure compliance.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience, or 1+ year in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, or operations, or Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate.1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, in a professional capacity.Workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and Business Continuity planning experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience making and influencing decisions by leveraging data and metrics.Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.Effective communication, collaboration, networking, and influencing skills across all business levels in a diverse workforce.1+ year of leadership or management and/or supply‑chain experience.Investigative interviewing experience and relevant certifications (e.g., Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment).Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.The base salary range for this position is $23.00 – $31.00 USD hourly.
