A Brief Overview
Directs second shift operations for the Knoxville Distribution Center across front store and pharmacy functions. Contributes to service, safety, quality, compliance, and expense performance by leading shift execution, developing colleagues and Leaders, and ensuring operational continuity across the building. This role also supports second shift coordination with the Loudon / Central Warehouse DC during hours when that buildings manager is not onsite.

The Knoxville Distribution Center is approximately 300,000 square feet. This role has 3 direct reports (Supervisors) and approximately 100 indirect reports. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, DC Operations.

What you will do
- Develop tactical and operational plans to achieve second shift goals across the Knoxville Distribution Center and communicate plans to leaders, supervisors, and colleagues
- Direct second shift execution across front store and pharmacy operations to ensure safe, accurate, and timely flow of work
- Ensure team compliance with policies, procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements
- Drive performance against service, quality, safety, productivity, and expense expectations
- Coordinate deliverable timelines, accountability, and action steps to support strong shift execution and follow-through
- Advise and partner with Leaders on opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service, and workflow
- Allocate labor and operational resources to ensure timely, secure, and accurate movement of product
- Analyze operational opportunities within the Distribution Center to identify process improvements and practical solutions
- Manage operational aspects of the team, including performance, compliance, workforce planning, and succession planning to meet business needs
- Lead, coach, and develop second shift Leaders, supervisors, and colleagues to strengthen capability, accountability, and bench strength
- Ensure effective communication across shifts so priorities, risks, and follow-up actions are clearly handed off and executed
- Respond to operational disruptions, service risks, and changing volume with urgency, sound judgment, and clear communication
- Partner with Transportation, Inventory, Finance, HR, Safety, Training, Operations Excellence, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve performance
- Support second shift operational coordination with the Loudon / Central Warehouse DC during hours when that buildings manager is not onsite, including escalation support and alignment with that buildings leadership structure

Minimum Requirements:

**This is a 2nd shift role, 3pm-11pm, Monday-Friday with flexibility as needed.**


- 5+ years of distribution, supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations experience
- Leadership experience in a high-volume Distribution Center environment
- Experience leading through frontline Leaders and supervisors in a complex operation

Preferred Qualifications:

- Adept at execution and delivery skills, including planning, delivering, and supporting operational priorities
- Adept at business intelligence and using operational metrics to drive performance
- Adept at problem solving and decision making skills
- Adept at collaboration and teamwork across functions, shifts, and locations
- Adept at growth mindset, agility, and developing yourself and others

- Experience supporting both front store and pharmacy Distribution Center operations
- Experience in continuous improvement, Lean, or process improvement environments
- Experience with workforce planning, labor deployment, and operational budgeting

Education:

- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$54,300.00 - $119,340.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
