Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00

Job Summary

PrideStaff is seeking a dependable, hardworking Loader for a steel manufacturing and fabrication facility in Knoxville, TN. This position is responsible for safely loading, unloading, moving, and organizing steel materials in a fast-paced industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in manufacturing, steel fabrication, warehouse operations, or an industrial setting. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position requiring strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload steel products, structural materials, and fabricated components from trucks and trailers.
  
• Safely move, stage, and organize steel materials throughout the facility and designated loading areas.
  
• Assist with preparing customer orders and shipments for transportation.
  
• Verify materials against shipping documents, work orders, and loading instructions.
  
• Properly secure and position steel materials to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.
  
• Assist with operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.
  
• Inspect materials for visible damage and report any discrepancies.
  
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe loading and storage areas.
  
• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  
• Work closely with production, warehouse, and shipping personnel to ensure materials are loaded accurately and efficiently.
  
• Perform additional warehouse and general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in steel manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse loading, or industrial material handling preferred.
  
• Experience working with heavy, oversized, or irregularly shaped materials is a plus.
  
• Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred.
  
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  
• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
  
• Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and willingness to work as part of a team.
  
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and safety standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
  
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials within established safety guidelines.
  
• Comfortable working around heavy steel materials, industrial equipment, and moving machinery.
  
• Ability to work in a warehouse or industrial environment with varying temperatures.
  
• Must consistently follow proper lifting techniques and safety procedures.
